DAY 6

One of the many regimental monuments at Gettysburg. Ms. Newhart took this one, December 2019 (I took the others).
We absolutely love going to Gettysburg. It combines two of our favorite things: hiking and Civil War history.

What would you do
If you knew that you would not fail?

PHYSICS DISTANCE LEARNING + INVESTIGATIONS AROUND THE HOUSE + A PHYSICS MYSTERY

Physics Distance Learning

Well, here we are, more than a week into this thing.

We got the word from the Curriculum & Instruction people that we are go for launch on distance learning, starting on March 30 (assuming we are still not back at school).

Mr. B, Mr. Damm, Mr. Restad and I are having email conversations about what we want to do. The discussion right now is focusing on project-based things having to do with conservation of energy.

I'll keep you posted. There's also a tool that the district put at our disposal: Google Meet. It's like a Facetime sort of thing. I might give it a try next week, if any of you want to check in. I'll let you know what times I'll be online.

I also plan on sending out the fixes and retakes that are still waiting for you attention.

Investigations Around the House

There are mysteries all around you! Here's one I bet you never thought of...

Which side of the door is the knob on? Are all the door knobs on the same side? Wait - they can't be because when you come in from the other side, it'll be opposite. So is there a greater logic to the arrangement? Which side of your fridge is the door handle on? Does it match the doors in the house? Is everyone's on that side? Check with friends.

A Physics Mystery

I took this picture in Hawaii in 2018. You notice the differently colored water? Why is it that way?

(No, it's not pollution!)

Answer: Monday.
