There is nothing either good or bad
but thinking makes it so.

TOP TEN THINGS TO DO DURING THE SHUTOWN &
SCROLL DOWN FOR A WORTH A CLOSER LOOK

#1 Try Something New Try a new hair style, makeup, paint your nails a weird color, grow a beard, shave your beard into a mustache, grow out your sideburns. You've got at least two weeks to undo whatever you did.

#2 Watch a Movie You Haven't Seen Since You Were a Kid. Maybe it'll be hokey and silly, but maybe it'll be fun.

#3 Reach Out. Call up or facetime older relatives who might not be getting out.

#4 Help Out. If you are able, make a donation to the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard. They just sent out lots of food to those in need in the school district. So many aren't able to go to work because of the shut down, meaning no money is coming in so the need is great. Here's a link to their website so you can see what they need and how to donate. #5 Clear Out. This may be the first time in a long time you've got no commitments. No school, no sports and possibly no work. Take advantage! Do things you've been meaning to do. Rearrange your room. Clear out the basement. Purge & donate old clothes. A clear and clean space is always a joy. If you're cleaning/clearing - do a time-lapse video of it. Post it for others to see and be inspired.

#6 Start Something Good. Start up a good habit. Maybe it's exerise or meditation, or if you are religious, do something devotional. This is a great time to do that - you have at least two weeks with few commitments.

#7 Hi Neighbor. Say hi to neighbors (from a distance). Call them up. Ask them if they need anything. Sharing and kindness is the way to get through this, and it will make you feel really good. People who selfishly hoard are trapped in a very dark world. You should feel pity for them.

#8 Go Outside. Don't be afraid to go outside. Get out, go for a walk or a run. Go to a park and breath the fresh air out in the open. You can't get sick from that.

#9 Smile. If you don't feel like smiling, smile anyway. When people smile back you'll feel better. That's what I do.

#10 While Shopping. If you are out at the store... Most people are nervous about what's happening, but embarrassed about being nervous. While in line at the store, crack a joke. Be friendly. Smile. Start up a conversation with a stranger. It will ease the tension and you may start up a conversation that makes everyone feel better. Most people are really in need of some positive human contact during this thing.

Worth a Closer Look: Siamese Twin Trees.
While hiking in the Poconos back in December, I saw two trees growing together. You've probably seen this many times, where two trunks started growing close to one another and merge into one tree, but I've never seen trees of different species doing it! Do they share a circulatory system? If one tree is stressed, does the other support it, biologically? Isn't life amazing? Click below to see.
